Mobility Ramps - Read This FirstIn order to supply you with the most appropriate and safest mobility ramps, please read the following information. You will need to know the maximum incline your powerchair or scooter is designed for, which can be found in the owner's manual. The maximum slope for wheelchair mobility ramps should be 1" of rise to 12" of length (4.8° angle / 8.3% grade). To work out the rise, measure the height between the top of the steps or landing, and the ground, and use the ramp table. For Example: a rise of 3" requires a ramp at least 36" (3ft / 91cm) long. The maximum slope for power chair mobility ramps should be 1.5" rise to 12" length (7.1° angle / 12.5% grade). To work out the rise, measure the height between the top of the steps or landing, and the ground. For Example: a rise of 3" requires a ramp at least 24" (2ft / 61cm) long. Use the Ramp table (opens new window) to work out what length ramps you need. Copyright 2006 www.mobility-ramps.co.uk - Mobility Scooter, Wheelchair and Powerchair Ramps |
